Learning has always looked a little different here.
Ady & Co. was born from our family's own journey of curiosity, creativity, and learning beyond the classroom. What began as a way to create meaningful learning experiences for Ady grew into something much bigger than we ever expected.
It all began at home.
Our journey began with homeschooling and the freedom to follow curiosity wherever it led. Learning happened through nature, creativity, everyday experiences, and simply asking questions and seeing where they took us.
One of those questions led us to butterflies. What began as a fascination with raising and releasing them became an incredible hands-on learning experience and eventually inspired our first book, A Girl Who Raises Butterflies.
Those early experiences became the foundation of Ady & Co. and shaped a belief we still carry today: some of the most meaningful learning happens when we experience it for ourselves.
Curiosity has a way of opening new doors.
As Ady grew, our learning experiences grew with her. Ady & Co. expanded from nature and homeschooling into entrepreneurship, creativity, emotional awareness, nervous system education, and opportunities for kids to learn through real-world experiences.
That journey led to educational programs, the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, the Little Artisan Market, books, workbooks, and community experiences where young people could explore their ideas and learn by doing.
Each experience taught us something, too—and many of those lessons continue to inspire the resources we create today.
The experiences haven't disappeared. They've become what we create.
As our lives have evolved, so has Ady & Co.
Today, our focus is on turning the experiences, lessons, and ideas that shaped our journey into thoughtfully created books, workbooks, downloadable materials, and educational resources.
Rather than being tied to a classroom, program, or event, our resources are designed to meet families wherever learning happens—at home, around the kitchen table, outside in nature, or simply through a child's curiosity about something new.
Ady & Co. will continue to grow and evolve, just as we have.

Ady & Co. was founded by Mariel Ruiz-Escasena from a desire to create meaningful learning experiences inspired by her own family's journey.
At the heart of that work has always been a simple belief: when we understand something better, we can make more confident decisions.
As Mariel's professional journey has evolved, that same education-first philosophy has continued with her. Today, through Ask Mariel, she carries that approach into her professional work—helping make complex decisions easier to understand and giving people the information and guidance they need to move forward with confidence.
